Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the regular annual competition?

This is a special standalone event held during Ramadan for our youngest participants (10 years and under). It has its own unique timeline, format, and registration process separate from our main annual competition.

Can I participate in both the Ramadan event and the annual competition?

Yes! These are separate events. If you meet the eligibility requirements for both, you are welcome to participate in each.

What should be included in the video submission?

Your video submission must follow these guidelines:

  • Record a clear video of your Qur’an recitation, with both audio and video of suitable quality.
  • The recitation must be from any passage within the bottom 3 Juz (Juz 28, 29, or 30). It is not limited to a specific surah or ayah.
  • The video duration should be at least 1 minute and no more than 3 minutes.
  • The participant should be dressed in an appropriate, modest manner and maintain respectful behavior throughout the recording.
  • The recording must be new and made specifically for this competition, not reused from a previous event or posting.

Will this event be held every year?

This is our first year hosting this special Ramadan event. Based on participation and community feedback, we will determine if it becomes an annual tradition.

Do I need to travel to Minneapolis for the preliminary round?

No. The preliminary round consists of a video upload during registration and a virtual memorization test. Only finalists will need to travel to Minneapolis for the final round.
