1. Introduction
Welcome to the Imam Shāṭibī Qur'an Competition. By accessing our websites (`imamshatibi.org` and `register.imamshatibi.org`), registering for our events, or using our services (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms”).
2. Use of Services
a. Parental Consent: If a participant is under the age of 18, registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, the parent or guardian represents that they have the authority to consent on behalf of the participant.
b. Lawful Purpose: You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
c. Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.
3. Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information. By using our Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Competition and Events
a. Registration: By registering for the competition, you agree to abide by all official
Rules and Regulations.
b. Photography and Filming: Our events, including the competition, may be filmed or photographed for promotional and archival purposes. Your attendance or participation constitutes consent to be filmed or photographed. If you have a specific concern, please contact an event organizer.
5. Umrah Travel Prize
a. Eligibility and Conditions: First-place winners in select categories may be eligible for an Umrah trip prize. Eligibility is strictly contingent upon meeting all requirements detailed in the
Awards Page. The Umrah prize is non-transferable, has no cash value, and will not be substituted with any alternative compensation. The prize will be forfeited entirely if a winner fails to meet all documentation requirements (such as possessing a valid passport and obtaining necessary visas) or is unable to travel during the designated group travel period.
b. Travel Facilitation: To facilitate the Umrah trip, we will coordinate group travel arrangements, including flights, lodging, ground transportation, and tours. Eligible winners (and their legal guardians, if applicable) agree to provide necessary personal information, such as passport details, required for these bookings. This information will be shared only with authorized travel providers for the sole purpose of arranging the trip.
c. Limitation of Responsibility: While we coordinate travel logistics, we are not a travel agency and do not assume liability for issues beyond our direct control. This includes, but is not limited to, flight delays or cancellations, changes in itinerary by travel providers, or lost/damaged luggage. Furthermore, all travelers are responsible for their own personal conduct, health, safety, and for safeguarding their personal belongings during the trip. We are not responsible for personal matters such as illness, accidents, or any legal issues that may arise. While our representatives may provide assistance in an emergency, the organization holds no financial or legal liability for such events.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, materials, and intellectual property (including logos, text, and graphics) on our Services are owned by or licensed to the North America Imam Al-Shatibi Quran Competition. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from our Services without our prior written consent.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information on our Services.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall we, our directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of our Services.
9. Termination
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate your access to the Services, including your competition registration, without notice, for any violation of these Terms or the official competition rules.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be resolved only by final and binding arbitration in Minnesota. Any arbitration will take place on an individual basis; class actions are not permitted.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
