02How registration works
- 1
Create an account
A parent, guardian, teacher or adult competitor signs up with an email address they check, then confirms it.
- 2
Add the competitor
Enter the competitor's legal name, date of birth and contacts. Details for returning competitors carry over from last year.
- 3
Choose categories
Pick one category in each division you are entering. The portal only offers categories open to the competitor's age.
- 4
Upload documents
Add the photo ID and the passport-style photo. Clear, uncropped images avoid delays.
- 5
Agree and pay
Accept the agreements, including the Integrity Policy, and pay the $50 fee.
- 6
Review and verification
Our team reviews every registration and emails you when it is verified, or when something needs a fix.
- 7
Book your sessions
Before each round, choose your time online in the portal. We email you when booking opens.
03Registration fee
$50 per competitor
One fee covers every category a competitor enters. It is non-refundable and goes toward running the competition, as a contribution and a form of ṣadaqah.
04Registering from outside North America
International entry is open in the 30 Juz Memorization category for competitors living in Europe and South America. You register in the same portal, on the same dates, with the same documents and fee.
- Citizens of the United States, Canada or Mexico, including dual citizens, cannot register as international entrants.
- Your screening is online. If selected, you compete in person at the Final in Minneapolis, July 3 to 11.
- You arrange your own US visa, travel and accommodation. Contact us for an invitation letter or a travel letter.
05Avoid common mistakes
Common problems
- A misspelled name, or a name that does not match the ID
- An email address nobody checks
- A blurry, cropped or dark photo of the ID
- Another person in the competitor's photo
For a smooth review
- Use the full legal name exactly as on the ID
- Give a primary email for the competitor, parent or teacher
- Photograph the ID flat, in good light, with all four corners showing
- Use a recent photo of the competitor alone on a plain background
06After you register
Our team checks the documents and details of every registration.
Something needs fixing. The portal and an email explain what to change.
You are registered. Watch your email for booking dates for your first round.
